Making an Easy Zero Waste Bulk Chicken Feeder that will hold about 70lbs of chicken feed and Automatically feed chickens for weeks!
Since it freezing in Michigan and the chickens have not place to free range we needed a way to make sure the chickens get more food throughout the day instead. The kids feed them in the morning and evening but I noticed if I went outside midday they seemed pretty hungry. This bulk chicken feeder will allow us to dump more than an entire bag of feed into this feeder and leave it be for weeks!

This is a very easy DIY chicken feeder build. With the price of plywood right now (2022) it is expensive if you have to by the material. If you have scraps like we did you can build this zero waste auto chicken feeder for next to nothing. I didn’t need to buy any materials for this build so it cost us 0$!

How does this feeder work with other birds eating the feed. I have a bucket feeder, that sparrows love to move in on, and help themselves to a snack. I am looking for something to keep the sparrows out of the feed.
