The learn the logic series is a series of videos where I go through details of a past project and explain why I designed and built the thing the way I did.
I hope you enjoy and if you have any additional questions you think I should answer in future videos leave them in the comments!

I’m just curious if there are any plans for your dust collection box to your miter saw on a stand? I am not in a place to build a station right now. I actually saw this when I was watching your miter saw station build. Everything else I have seen with a stand is based on a shroud. This is exactly what I have been looking for! I know it is saw specific, but if you could possibly break it down just a bit for me? I’m very new at this and learning completely through YouTube. Thanks so much and your children and puppy are absolutely adorable!!
Jennifer, Unfortunately no plans for this as each miter saw would be different.
I used your design as inspiration to build a similar dust collection hood. I added a “V” shaped section at the bottom and added a couple of deflectors to direct the dust to the output port. The bottom was like a upside down pyramid with the top cut off. I added a blast gate at the bottom that could be accessed from the front of the saw under the stand. I also added a 90 degree elbow at the saw’s port to direct the dust towards the bottom. It works great.
Excellent modifications Jim! Glad is working out well for you, thanks for the comment!
