In this weeks woodworking DIY video I show you how to make a Do-It-Yourself version of the Deulen jointer / planer knife sharpening system. This jig allows you to take your jointer or planer blades, for two and three blade systems, put them in this easy to make shop jig and sharpen them allowing you to continue to cut extremely hardwoods like Hickory and Oak like butter.
This jig is not my original idea, I think a dude named Deulen came up with or at least licensed the idea. This is not an exact copy of his, all the cuts and angles are from me and what works with my tools.
Will make a video of the steps to remove your knives, sharpen and replace the knives for a jointer or planer, coming out soon…..hopefully.
Some of the stuff I used.

I would like you to send me the measurements and the angle of entry of the blades?
I made mine on the fly but I saw the original idea here.

Be sure to check your planer/jointer knives as the angle may be different then 45°.
