In this video I make a few window cornice to add a final touch to our great room remodel. I made these mostly out of scrap MDF and plywood that I had laying around but I had to buy the crown molding.
Window Cornice Assembly
They are a simple three sided “Box” made out of MDF and assembled using wood glue and brad nails. I added some structural support by putting some 3/4″ plywood as the hanger and back support. I also added some support between the back and the main face and this really stiffened up the hole assembly. Finished with a few coats primer and high gloss white paint, all applied using a sprayer. I hung them on the wall using 2 1/2″ deck screws.
